Pricing for Notary Services
Fees for notarizing documents are mandated by state law. This means the cost of the notarial act itself is fixed and consistent across all notaries within the Pennsylvania.
Notary Fees
- Taking Acknowledgement: $5 ($2 for additional name)
- Administering Oath or Affirmation: $5 per individual
- Taking Verification on Oath or Affirmation: $5 (regarless of the number of signatures)
- Witnessing or Attesting a Signature: $5 per signature
- Certifying or Attesting a Copy or Deposition: $5 per certified copy
- Noting a Protest of a Negotiable Instrument: $3 per page
- Executing Affidavits: $5 (regarless of the number of signatures)
Note on Pricing
Pennsylvania notaries, while bound by state-mandated fees for the actual notarization acts, can charge additional reasonable fees for services beyond the basic seal and signature. These may include administrative costs like photocopying, postage, or electronic transmission; convenience fees for travel, waiting time, after-hours appointments.
